  BOTTOM LINE UP-FRONT: Soot Seekers is an outstanding company with excellent service provided by professional and pleasant people. Our house is over 100-years old; it has a separate flue and chimney for the water heater while the flues for the furnace and fireplace are combined into another chimney. When we bought the house all three flues required significant work. For safety reasons we immediately had Soot Seekers replace the water heater and furnace flues...the fireplace had to wait because it required extensive work and was not an immediate need. The fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room in our old home. We thought we could no longer use it due to its condition (broken flue tiles...relining the 100+-year old flue would result in failing current fire codes [due to size]). The fireplace and chimney are in the very center of the house making a rebuild of the chimney nearly impossible (tearout of walls, cabinetry, flooring, ceilings, etc.). Thankfully, in 2021 John (of Soot Seekers) offered an affordable solution: the installation of an Ahrenfire firebox and flue. My wife and I could not be happier with the results: a beautiful fireplace which brightens the room and adds true warmth (it REALLY warms the living room). We are so very glad glad we had Soot Seekers do this work. Every year we have Soot Seekers return to our home to clean and inspect the fireplace and flue to insure we'll have many more years of safe use of our beautiful fireplace.
